The tail being cut off is a bit distracting to the composition. But excellent exposure and no backscatter!

Nice clear shot but I agree with the centering reply earlier.

The eye, mouth and front half of the body appear to be tack sharp. That's important. The exposure on the belly is great. Nice blue water and white belly without blowing it out. No back scatter either. Neat trick, getting all the other divers to exhale so the bubbles went behind the shark :) So technicaly it's a great shot.

However there are issues with the composition. I aggree with Jonathon that having a portion of the tail out frame was distacting. This would not have been a problem if the shark filled the frame more. But with so much space in front of the shark, it worked against you. The boat hull slices through the background at an odd angle. Shooting sharks is hard. Getting them cooperate with framing and backgrounds is harder.

If the image detail can survive it, try cropping the photo closer in on the shark. That will remove some negative space in front of and above the shark and move the eye into a rule of thirds position. It will also show off that cute little hitch-hiker, making it a behavior shot.

Mind you it's far better then my best shark shot, but then I don't enter it in competition :)

I'd crop it something like this. Exposure & color are good. Just needs some cropping.

Best,
