Jukka-

I'm assuming you're asking if I'm selling my images.

The short answer is "NO." Underwater photography is just a hobby of mine. If I turn it into a business, then it becomes something else that enslaves me. I'd rather just enjoy underwater photography than become a slave to it.

No, I'm the one who took the picture...that's a fellow diver in the picture.
My new U/W rig is almost as big but not quite.
So far, I've only tried it with one strobe, but I ordered a 2nd strobe this morning. Yikes! Robyn

Thanks Jukka.
'Psycho' took me quite by surprise. At first he was literally right in my face and wrapping his long body all around me. I almost swam back to the boat,,but I'm glad I didn't. After I regained my composure I was able snap some pretty cool shots of Psycho in action! Robyn

He certainly has an 'outgoing' personality for an eel. I'm glad you were able to capture and share you photo & experience with us. I think your shot is fantastic!

I always like this one of mine from Dominica just because of the color, not really because of the moray itself:

http://www.jonathanbird.net/jpegs/spottedmoray.jpg

And this Dragon Moray photographed at Midway Atoll, not because it's a good shot but because it's a cool and rare moray:

http://www.jonathanbird.net/jpegs3/dragon_moray.jpg

And well, you gotta have a ribbon eel:

Upper one made me hypnotic with the colours. I think this is strange ( in a positive way ), that main target got only second price. I just want to say that when looking lot of UW-pictures "the difference" get the point of interest.

Clay, were those photo's taken with your new D80? Whether they were or not, they look great!

I'd be interested in reading about your thoughts on the Nikon D80. What are if any, the major differences between it and the D200.

Cheers!
Daniel :)

The first one I feel the most impressive. I too like pictures taken taken straight toward. I tried to imagine how the picture would look like moray mouth wide open, but this totality is absolutely right. I think staightforward impresson shots is highly evaluated, because they are so difficult to take.

Hi Daniel. All of the moray pics were with the old N90s film camera, but I have been taking lots of land pics with both the D200 and D80. I don't find any significant difference between the two photographically. The D200 feels more solid and robust and has a convenient flash socket for studio stuff, but the D80 produces the same image with the same chip. The lighter weight and smaller physical size, not to mention the cheaper price, makes me glad that I decided to house the 80 instead of the 200. -Clay

I have seen yellow mouth moray, but never pink mouth moray.

Also it game to my mind question that have anybody seen color failure UW-creatures like albinos? There was in Galapagos this albino whale shark!

Clay great shot!
