Since Jon has one I thought I would add one as well! This was taken on the 2005 Dolphin trip that Jonathan lured in holding the bait bucket!

Wow, that's tight. Maybe too tight? I think I'd rather see the whole nose. Also, the exposure looks a bit flat--might try adding some contrast and darkening a little. Still an arresting shot. -Clay

Nice and tight. But it has a case of the blues. I can only ***ume it was an available light photo? If so you might have been better served by going Black and White.

I LOVE the composition. But it would be better with a strobe to increase the contrast and reduce the super blue effect.
What camera was that taken with.

It was my Canon A1 ES model with only built in flash and no flash was used.
Can you reccomend a flash unit to use with these types of cameras?
Thanks,
Jim

I'm not familiar with the camera. Is that a digital point and shoot? I'll bet our local camera expert Fred Dion can help with that question. Yo Fred, where are ya man?

Our most popular strobe system for point & shoot cameras is the S&S YS-25. Complete with arm, tray and fiber-optic cord sells for less than $600.
Another option would be the S&S YS-15. It is a small auto strobe with no power adjustments. With arm, tray & cord it sells for under $400.
Both systems work well with any system that uses a clear plastic housing.

Thanks Fred! And yes jonathan it's a point and shoot same as Kerry Hurd has.
Fred, so that I'm clear here the fiber optic cable attached outside the clear housing and picks up the internal flash when it fires?
Sorry but I'm a real novice still..............
Thanks!

Fred sorry but I forgot to mention I have a Canon S1 ES point and shoot camera. Will the new S3 ES fit in the Canon S1 ES housing still? Did the body or size change at all. I looked on the Canon web site and it had no mention of a housing for the new S3 ES camera ata ll.
Thanks again!

Mike,
You are correct the Canon S3 does not fit in the S1 housing and Cannon does not have a housing for the S3. Sorry!
The fiber optic cable comes with parts to attach it to your plastic housing. When your camera flash goes off it triggers your external flash through the fiber optic cord.

Thanks again Fred for all this good info. Is the S&S YS-15 on your web site at all? I couldn't find it anywhere.
Thanks again,

Ikelite recently introduced the DS-51 which is more powerful than the YS 15 or YS 25.
The DS 51 ia a TTL compatible strobe with 6 manual power settings. The DS 51 can be connected via a sync cable or triggered by one of their slave controllers. therefore you have a flash that will work with any camera be it a "point and shoot" or housed SLR. This is something to consider in the very likely event you plan to upgrade.
I have been waiting for such a strobe for years! I am planning to use these for my macro work.
Speaking of Macro, there are not any posts on the Macro thread? Whats with that?
Cheers
Chris
