Hi Sirkia! The photos look great. Can you tell us where you were in Florida and what equipment was used in your photography? Thanks for sharing. -Clay

I like the "Beware of Alligators" sign!

Was this a cave diving course? What springs are those? Looks pretty interesting. Thanks for sharing!

Jesse Cancelmo and I are looking for underwater alligator ops. Did you see any 'gators in the water? If so, where? -Clay

I gotta tell ya Clay, sharks don't bother me, but big giant reptiles are scary mothers!

Yeah . . . I'm in total agreement with that comment!!

From what I've seen of Gator behavior, they don't seem to care what you are or what you look like. If you move, and you look anywhere near edible, Gators will attack - regardless of how big or scary you look.

My name ain't Steve Irwin . . . so I'll be givin' all Gators a wide berth!!!

When diving Florida, Manatees are more my style!! ;)

hi,

The only place where i saw gators was a Everglades.
Fortunately I was in boat when i saw them :)

Oops, I hope I didn't skew this thread off-topic. I guess the 'gator thing is about what you have experience with. I pretty much live with them down here in Louisiana, and I've found them to be, for the most part, non-aggressive and extraordinarily tolerant of close approaches. I think the trick of underwater photos would be to find them in water clear enough to monitor their response to you. Anyway, just thought I'd ask. -Clay

P.S.: I recently posted a (non-gator) photo that made me break a sweat. http://claycoleman.tripod.com/id302.htm

sirkia,

some of your pics turned out quite nice. I would suggest getting closer to your subjects (especially if you are using internal flash only). Once you think you are close.....get closer.

Great start.

Thanks. I know that i have to get closer, but usually fishes swim away when i try to do that...

One problem with compact camera is that difference between underexposed and overexposed is so small.

Probably the fault is mine, but it's nice to blame to my camera ;)
