I just ran some stats . . .

Out of 2,300 posts, 161 of the posts mentioned the brand "Ikelite" . That's over 7% "share-of-mind!"

This does not include posts that mention Ikelite products (i.e. DS-125 Strobe) without mentioning the brand Ikelite. If you were to combine the two stats, I'd bet that nearly 20% of the posts had something to do with Ikelite - far more than any other underwater housing manufacturing brand!!

Anyway . . . congratulations to Ikelite for being a pioneer - being the first to recognize the unmitigated value of a chat board solely devoted to the "serious" underwater photographer! :eek:

One thing I do not want to do is have the site full of advertising. I will plan on one or two more sponsors for the moment, just to be sure we have some "fair and balanced" sponsoring. But that will be it. The sponsoring is just to keep the hosting bills paid. I'm not trying to make money on this endeavor so there is no need to go overboard.

If anyone knows a company that might like to sponsor, drop me a line. Pretty much anything related to underwater photography or diving is acceptable. Unless Ferrari wants to sponsor, in which case I'll make an exception! ;)

Great to hear that our efforts are for nothing! Thaks to all who followed my advice!

Still keeping the site alive, we need action inside the site ( not saying that activity has been bad, but it can be more now when much new members in the game ). Pics are the best !

Our efforts were well worth it. We got the numbers up, Ikelite has agreed to sponsor the site, and we are off and running. We are in business! Now I would like to find one other sponsor, so that the site doesn't appear to be an Ikelite site. We need a banner on the other side of the page. I asked Underwater Photo tech but Fred never got back to me. I assume he is not interested. I'll make a few more inquiries.

By the way, it would be nice if all the participating members would do a little scouting for eventual sponsors on their sides. We are not talking about millions!
