Does anyone have any experience using a flash ring underwater? I'd like to know who's manufacturing them - Inon has a Quad flash that looks promising. Are any others available?
We sell the Inon Quad Ring Flash, and Athena's New Ring Flash. The Inon is very big, and has limited manual control (1/4 power is too much in some situations). It does work well with film cameras that have compatible TTL systems, though.
The Athena is really small, has nice manual controls, but has a mickey mouse battery cap design and limited intensity.

Getting a port is also a challenge. We have vendors for custom ports for Sea & Sea, Subal, and Nexus, but they are special order items.

I tried the Inon; I found that it was more of a pain to use due to the large diameter. If using one I would suggest a 100mm macro lens which would provide more working distance. it did produce nice even lighting.
Two small strobes such as the new Ike DS-51s would be a lot more versatile
All the best
