That is a feature that will be available for subscribed users in the future for a small fee. I haven't gotten around to setting it up yet. The idea would be to help fund the site with these proceeds, as the site is entirely funded by my wallet right now! The other thing you would get for this fee is unlimited image hosting. (Right now there is a per person limit of 1 MB).

The quote above is from a cephalopod thread, but I thought I'd start a new thread since this has nothing to do with the topic. Now that the site has got the sponsor money coming from everywhere  how about those signatures?

Not that they would make a big difference, but I like signatures... :D

The problem with signatures is that they are inevitably used for marketing (such as mine). Although I don't have a problem with that in theory, I believe it is a feature that should be reserved for people who are willing to contribute something (i.e. money) to the site in exchange for the priviledge. But I am just not ready (and don't have time at the moment) to set up a way for this to happen. I have to configure the software for paid subscriptions (which I have to learn how to do first) and then I have to figure out a way for people to pay and for me to easily and reliably keep track of it all. Maybe over the winter...I'm just too busy with work right now!

I leave in 3 days for an assignment to St. Vincent, and then I'm leading a trip to Eastport, Maine the following week, then I'm off to Lembeh for two weeks at the beginning of Oct, followed by DEMA. I don't have a weekend to myself until November!
