I am planning to test taking pictures with a preset fixed focus with my 15mm FE lens under 6" Ikelite dome.

Would be very helpfull if someone could give me good succestions on the focusing distance I should choose.

I mostly take pictures in caves so light for AF is allways a problem...

Inifinity focus behind a dome is roughly twice the dome diameter, so a good starting point would be to focus the lens at 12 inches.

Great shot! Where is this? Looks like a mine or something.

Yes it is a man made mine near where I live. We dive there a lot, the viz is great and water is cold :)

No need :) It is an old limestone mine in Montola village, Finland :)

Ah ha! Finland!! With all the Fins on this site and cool pictures being posted, pretty soon we are going to have to go to Finland for some diving!

There are plenty of old wooden ship wrecks on the coast of Finland. Well preserved as the salt content of the sea is too low for worms that eat the wrecks. Certainly something you should consider. No fancy reefs though ;)

Here's a pic from Hylyt.net a finnish wreck site. This one is from osborn & elisabeth.

A guide to use the site:

"Lisatus" - a list of wrecks (where there is an eye symbol there are some pictures, when you click the wrecks name you can then click on the upper left corner "kuvat" to see them)

"Kartta" - a map of wrecks

"uusimmat" - latest additions
