My wife and I were joined by two other couples for a week in Cozumel. We opted to use a small dive operator (Sea Scuba) and for the most part we were quite satisfied. Just a few minor glitches though... ran out of gas one time on our way back. Timing was off, it had to happen during a thunder storm!

Sadly the shallow reefs are still in bad shape. Plenty of smallish marine life, however we didn't see any larger creatures.

A few photos from our week.

Hey Daniel,
I like the butterflyfish.

When I was there in 2000, the reefs were wonderful. I understand that Wilma made quite a mess. The biggest thing I liked about Cozumel were the huge schools of reef fish. How do the fish populations look?

When we dove on Columbia Shallows, we came across some schools of fish but it was nothing compared to the previous trips we've made prior to Wilma.

Don't get me wrong, we had a wonderful time and diving was fun. The last minute pricing didn't hurt either (less than 1k all in for the week). We don't plan on returning anytime soon.

Cheers!
Daniel :)
