Thanks Clay and Daniel!
It was great to dive again after more than one year stop ( recovery of my leg ).
Clay, I agree that most asked pics to local magazines are the ones with colorfull coral formations with blue background, specially when the journalist is nondiver!

Hey Jukka,
I have to fire up the big computer to look at this thread. I don't know about others, but your pics are a tad large to view on a laptop at 1024x768 resolution. You might want to consider in the future making the images 800 pixels wide, just to make the thread easier to view by people.

Hi David!
Video rig has it own story to tell:
I packed the rig extremely carefully, with lot of foamed plastic. The system was so heavy that I had to put the case to checked baggage system.
I think, that in x-ray they thought that this must be a bomb or something; the lock of the case was broken and there was lot of sings in the housing that they have dropped it somewhere:confused: .
The menu panel on the right hand grip side was pushed inside so that the housing was not waterproof anymore. So thats about my great shootage from the Red Sea:(
The housing made its own trip to Canada for repair, most probably the body will be renewed...it is in the hands of Amphibico experts now and I am waiting their comments.
Sh...t i need a hammer to get it to so bad shape.
Expenses will be covered by flight company and insurances, but lost video material can not be insured anywhere:mad:
In future I really don't know how to avoid this to happen again. I have so much photo/video gears, that its impossible to take all of them to cabin baggage.

Oh man, my heart goes out to you. So sorry that you did not get a chance to test the new equipment out. I was really looking forward to seeing the results. My Phenom hard case has always travelled as oversize baggage and the customs inspectors generally want to scrutinize the contents. In some cases I have insisted on them opening the case to determine that the contents are in fact safe to transport and then request that they mark the lock to indicate to other inspectors that the contents have passed security. Fortunately your insurance will cover the cost of repair or replacement but you cannot recover the lost opportunity to film. Maybe having equipment small enough to qualify as carry on is the answer.

Thanks David for taking part to my disappointment.
Anyhow disappointments is part of this hobby...you can not change the history...but you should learn to change the coming history!

Just been looking at your pictures, they are great. But I see a big difference in my pictures vs your pictures....I need a strobe.
Was in Red Sea in november the northern tour from Sharm el Sheik, Great trip.
The pictures have been sized down for easy viewing.

You are right about the strobe...fotographing is actually saving light forms to your camera and water "eats" different colors...more, what deeper you go.

...and one old truth is, that if you feel you are too close...go closer!

Would it be a result of using layers in Photoshop?
Just curious :D

Pointing the strobe behind the subject, out of the picture to get some shadows?

The right stobe is partly under the front corals making the shadows. But this is not answer I am looking for.
Tomorrow I will give answer!

picture of a picture?

Answer is two source of light!
The time was 4 pm and sun was not any more in the highest position, but it was still giving the light to background corals. In Egypt the time of getting dark is about 7 pm and it's not varying much during the year.
The moray was in shadow and light to that one came from srobe ( accidentaly the strobe was too low giving some more shadow to moray and corals front of it ).
Second thingh that is influencing to this pic is use of FE + 1,4teleconverter to give bigger depth of field and greater angle.
Camera values f11, iso 100, shutter 1/60
