Hi Guys,
I was just on the Ikelite website and I see that they have a new strobe for compact cameras which looks interesting, so thought I would see if anyone has tried it out yet as it could be good for travelling with for the odd dive or two when the SLR kit is too big to take? www.ikelite.com/af35/autoflash.html.

I wish I could offer some advice on this. It looks like a slick little strobe with a sensor to fire it from the built-in strobe of your camera, plus a manual power adjust to fine-tune exposure. But I have absolutely zero experience with it!
I would really love to find a nice compact with a decent lens and flash and not too much shutter lag to buy for my wife.

Well Ikelite have certainly got their other strobes nailed spot on, so I can only imagine that this one is just as good. I might try and pick one up to try with my Olympus to see if it is a good combo... the only things holding me back will be the shutter delay and having poor macro...
tough one but better than taking no camera at all??

Did you get a chance to try the AF35? Does anyone else have any experience with it?
I'm slightly interested...

hi,
i have this AF35 from singapore. i tried single strobe and planning to add to double the strobe if budget permits. im new in UW photography using my sony DSC-T300 and sony marine pack.
AF35 is ok esp in strong current during descent. very handy strobe.

Try Lumix (Panasonic) DMC-TZ5 it comes with a LEICA lens 28mm WIDE, along with the 40m Waterproof marine case.
