It is middle winter in Finland right now. Last weekend we went to do some ice diving with our fishermans friends who are fishing with nets under ice.

The weather was cloudy, so vicibility wasnīt best possible, but doog anyway. One hour dive in 1 degree celcius water was excellent.:D

Great shots, I especially like the 4th one. I suppose no-one got stuck in the fishing nets... :)

Thank you solisti.

Yes, ewerything went just fine, no-one stucked in the nets. :) Material of this net is so thick, that it is easy to see it. Normal fishing net in lakes is much thinner and that why more dangerous.

It was very diffigult to get to the ice, because there where so mutch water on top of the ice also. :( We had to have four wheel cars to get there. Normally ice is so hard that it is easy to drive on that with normal car.

I second Solisti on the fourth pic. Nice composition and the net makes the picture unique compared to more typical under ice pictures. You mentioned that nobody was stuck but it looks like there is a large tear on the net though - the huge fish that just escaped ? :D

Yes, probably the moster of the lake was done that tear to the net?;)

Actually there was one 6 kg lost pike to the net. Fishermans were fishing white fishes (called Muikku in Finninsh language).

And fish net is called Muikkunuotta.

Thanks Jukka. Little bit different than in Bahama.;)

I like a lot my new G9. Especially I like the RAW pictures, because now I can work with them more than JPG pictures.:)

I like Ikelite housing because itīs bigger than Canon housings. I changed the short port for housing, but I have still problem with vingeting with INON UWL 100 dome. Now I have to always remember to zoom a litle bit to avoid vigneting.

I have had also some small problems with my INON D-2000 strobe, what I didnīt had with my earlier Canon housing. In M-mode I cant get all power from my strobe in Full power position. Perhaps the fiber canīt transform right information between strobe and camera?

Now I am looking forword next summer to get shooting to lakes some pikes etc. :)
