They don't swim very well. The red one was one of a pair, and it swam about 20 feet to get to another coral head. This yellow one was found coming up the reef to shallow water late in the day. I think it slept in the shallows, but we never found it at night.:

Crikey... that is a sharp looking photo!
I was watching an online video about Frogfish and it appears to me they use their fins to walk rather than "fin".

They walk, crawl, trundle, stumble, and swim a little. I just got a little place in the middle of nowhere, Louisiana (actually 1/2 mile from a real place called "End Of The World"), and my neighbor sort of moves along the same way when he gets in at 3am.
I think those hairy frogfish are cool, as well, though I've never seen one. -Clayl

In the Caribbean, St. Vincent is the place for them. I know a guy who photographed not one but two in Dominica, but in all my trips I never saw one there. In West Palm Beach there is a "muck" dive site near a bridge that is supposed to have them, but I've never been there.
Of course, the hairy frogfish capital is Lembeh....lots there!
I like your swimming orange froggie shot...a little different from the average froggie pic.

On one of my dives in Bonaire a few weeks ago everyone in the group was pointing at something and I couldn't figure out what they were pointing at so I just shot some pics in the general directions of where they were pointing. Back at the surface I asked what everyone was pointing at and they told me it was a frogfish. That evening I uploaded my shots for the day and discovered that I had "kind of" gotten a pic of it. :)

I finally found a freeswimming frog in Bonaire. This one never stayed in one place, jumping from one coral to another.

He had developed a "gulping" motion to jet water through its gills for a fairly quick mobility.

This one was tiny and well-camouflaged; my buddy didn't see it even after I pointed it out. I like his red-tipped fins/feet:

OK, I can't stand it any longer and I will post a couple. These are hosted on my site and I keep the images small to discourage swiping.

It was half the size of the back of your hand. I was the last one to photo him and did not use a flash. I didn't want to stress him any more and it was shallow so had good light.
