The one thing which is true with UW-pics is that two objects in same picture gives more impressive result.

Two middle ones is difficult to see object from the background.

Yes I think they are about all year, it's just a matter of spotting them.
There are lots of other species, but I don't think I have any pictures of them yet.

Jukka, I agree and it is something that is a good question! Do I make it a scientific picture and move them to lexan or a plastic background so the animal is clearly visible or do you leave them as you find them? I like getting them naturally as I find them with no staging even if it means they are hard to see! Just my preference, but I don't like non-real or staged as well as the real deal! ;) What makes them hard to see tells me something!

The situations varies...sometimes they are in the positions that it is not possible to get good picture. You are right autentic picture is telling something.
Other thing is that one basic rule of angle of taking picture should be same level or upwards is also influencing how audience is reacting to picture.

Interesting observation. Jukka is this intentional?
We do read photos from left to right and movement to right is usually considered as forward. Examples below:

Solisti! With composition you actually can flip canvas horizontally with photoshop...so you can do both and directions. Somewhere I have read that human eye is first checking from picture the right side first ( golden triangle ) and the main point should be there...always breaking the rules can give nice results. To me when adjusting, cropping, leveling the pic is important that it is pleasing my eye. Another truth is that different people are evaluating the pics differently.
I feel moving right it is coming in...starting, forward, like video zooming in. Moving left is leaving, ending, like video zooming out.

Great to hear from you David!
How was your filming in Bonaire...was camera OK?
I love your camerawork...you have one of the most stable hands to shoot I have ever seen...and that is needed for these nice little creatures.
To me Lembeh is the place I visited only couple of days on my way to Raja Ampat and I feel that I didn't get enoug from there yet.
Compared to Antarctica there are objects even too much to take photos/film.
Same number of dives as in Antarctica/3 weeks you are getting there in two days.
Great music, but if I may say...just somebody reading the text below to beginning of the video and rest of the video with music would give better result...just my thoughts.

Hello Jukka,
Amphibico repaired the right hand grip and I purchased a spare just in case but neither of them worked so I shipped the entire housing back for repair. The technician took it all apart and put it back together and could not find anything wrong. But, when it was returned, on the afternoon of the day before I left for Bonaire, it worked perfectly. So, now I have 10 tapes from Bonaire to edit as well as all the tapes from the Bahamas and Yap. Should keep me out of trouble for a while.

I know exactly what you are speaking about.. I have Indonesia, Bahama, Yap, Filippines, Finland, Thailand, Antarctica undone.
Anyhow I ordered this new MAC table computer with fastest processor ( 8core ), 16 MB RAM, 2 HD graphics cards, 6,6 TB memory RAID + Back up. Two Eizo Color Edge 30" screens, getting it after 3 weeks...soon no excuses for undone work:o .

There's always something new to see, underwater, whether it's a new species or creature behaviour. If I ever think there is nothing new to see, I'll have to quit diving.
Although, I think half the reason I haven't seen one yet is because I need magnifiers in my mask ;)
