Here is my latest icedivingvideo with cavedivingtechnique (http://www.pasilensu.com/video/exploration_under_ice_10012009_small_size_wmv.wmv) . File size is 93Mt.
Air temperature was -6 celsius/21 fahrenheith and water temperature was 0 celsius/33 fahrenheit. Lenght of the penetration was 200 meter/600 feet. On that dive we set up the permanent guidline/mainline and arrows.
There is no music and narration, but I´m still working on it.

Hi Pasi!
I haven't got anything ready with videos for long time...no excuses::o .
Thanks for sharing. What I remember your earlier videos there is remarkable development to be seen in this one. Cutting the clips works well...quality has developed a lot specially when taking to account that this is web-version.

There is educational stuff inside the video, but absolutely needs narration or even text comment to most important points.
I feel that some clips still are too long...you are musician also...so try to find rythm of clips like there is in music also ( moving, still, close, vide view, panning, details etc. ).
Pasi, I am not saying that there is "big wrong" in this video...I enjoyed it.
I just would like to see even more development ( after my next one, I really waiting same kind of comments from you )

Just like in Antarctica;)

Thank you for you feedback Jukka. Yes, some clips are too long.
I dive a lot in that lake, but now I got new subject to shoot. Putting the mainline, it deffenetely need narration or text to get more about the video.
Have a good trip to atarctica.:)

There were points in your video where after diver is swimming out of screen you made immediate approach to line binding point. I remember from somewhere that there should be some thinkable connection between the clips and swimming away and showing the result of that can be separate clips and might look better.
Narration specially combined with music is extremely challenging. But somebody have been saying that good experience in movietheater is 60 % coming from sound experience...I dont know is that truth or how it is measured...but maybe there is some truth in that.
Anyhow my feedback is in 100 % positive meaning...and of coarse only one person opinion.

I have mede my first underwatervideo (http://www.pasilensu.com/video/exploration_under_ice_10012009_narration_and_music .wmv)with narration. My friend Sami (Samba) made music for that video.
I still want to develop that video, becauce I want to make it shorter. That is the next step, but now you can enjoy of that version.
Making the narration makes a lot of work especially when I am workin with foreign language.

I liked it a lot. Was the music really made for this video? I liked it a lot and it was well edited. I liked how it got calmer when you entered the water.
Narration was good too. I think the calm but steady pace was very good, allowing time for images also.
...and now with narration it was a much more interesting story! (not saying it was boring in the first place)
Good job!

Yes the music was made for that video. First I edit the video and then I gave it to Sami how made the music. Music has been his hobby for his hole life. He made music with some computerprogram. First time when I listened the music it sounds even too calm on that under water part, but when I listened it couple times agein I was pleaced. Especially if you watch and listen it from television and good speakers. Original version is MPEG-file and it is 1,23Gt.

An idea: shoot the drill coming through the ice and the saw underwater. Reduce topside part of hole making. (not that many people wonder how can they shoot underwater if they are just making the hole anyway, although I sometimes wondered who was shooting the cousteau team arriving to the location by aeroplane... :D )

That is a good idea. I will try that in this winter.:)
I made my video (http://www.pasilensu.com/video/exploration_under_ice_short_version_narration_and_ music.wmv)shorter. Now it is under ten minute and size is 66Mt on my homepage www.pasilensu.com .
I put also video to Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJ1Hly83vik&feature=channel_page)but some how it seems to be there 4:3 when it should be 16:9? I dont know whats the problem?
