Just a half an inch tall (13 millimeters), Satomi's pygmy seahorse is probably the world's smallest seahorse. Two Satomi's pygmy seahorses would fit head-to-head across the face of a penny.

The seahorses have been seen giving birth to tiny offspring, each about the size of a 12-point apostrophe.

The guy who found these must have laser focus eyesight, cuz I could barely see a normal Pygmy Seahorse, let alone a super-small Pygmy Seahorse!

Hey Seafan . . . something to look for when you're in Lembeh over the Christmas Holidays this year! :D

Study co-author Sara Lourie from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

I'll try to meet her prior to my Lembeh trip next fall.

WOW! I don't know if I would have been able to see them even before I started needing to wear reading glasses!! ;)

Hmmm.... wonder if I can talk my optometrist into letting me try out a super strong +contact for my trip there.

It's a good thing I just ordered a new subsee magnifier for that trip. Now all I have to do is decide whether to upgrade my camera and housing before I go so I can order the adaptor to go with it or send Keri my housing to have an adaptor made to use with it until I do the upgrade. :D :D
