Pikes.

I start the new thread for pikes. We have one very good lake where to shoot pikes especially july and august when pikes are coming to shallow water. Because of the good visibility they let divers came very close of them.

Yes, she was wounded by some fisherman. Perhaps fisherman was used some kind of spear/javelin? :(

From this picture you can see, how there is white spot on the back and the rest of pike body is twisted.

The photos are nice and sharp even though the water does look quite green and murky. My favourite is the face-off at the end. Well done and can't wait to see when you have strobes!

Nice shots. My dad lives ona lake; I have found fresh water fish upapproachable for photography. They are much to skitish. I'm impressed with the shots. Sharp, good lighting and nice contrast. Good work

I like you photos and green water Pan! Most of our lakes have brown water but few of those are green. There seems to be a lot of different kind of flora on the bottom of the lake.

Thank you tkelly. In clear water you can go very close for pike. I have found only one lake where water is clear enough. I love that lake.

Here my dome almost touch the pike.

Photo has taken in the end of the July when water is so warm that we can dive with wetsuit without cloves. Just like in tropical waters.:D

That pike was my friend for three years. He was always in the same are of our lake, but now I haven´t seen it after two month. We found one bait from the wreck on the bottom of the lake. We think that some fisherman has toked our pike away!:(

I was lucky that I got some HD video of that pike. I´m going to edit a uw-video this autumn so you can see it in live.:)

I had the time when I felt "green water" is sort of failure and tried to even correct it with photoshop. Today I like "green water pictures" even more than blue water ones...those are little different than dominating UW-pictures.

PanHavranek, there is nice compositions in your pictures, but you need absolutely strobes to get the subject out of background.
