I'm trying to find a way to shoot M mode and still be able to synch my Inon S2000 so I can keep in set on STTL.

Main reason is that I want to shoot F8 and 1/250 or 1/500 and don't want play with strobe output... it's a lot easier for me to go STTL with my fo cable.

Acutally, the main reason is that the lettering on the strobe is too small for me to read underwater even with my contacts on. :p

Any suggestions?

Shooting in Av or Tv will only allow me to control speed or F stop depending on which mode I am using as they are preset in those modes respectively. :(

Am leaving for Dominica on Sunday so hope someone reads this and offers help!

Yes the lettering is small. Only thing what I can think is that you can touch/feel with you fingers where the arrow of the strobe button is pointing (left, up, right, down).

Another tip is to carry with you the mgnifying glass on you BCD pocket of conencted to small string and D ring.

Hope that you can solve you problem. Have a nice trip!

Guess I will have to spend time topside memorizing the strobe controller. :)

Am still going to play with Tv at the speed I want as well as with different f stops in Av mode and see how things turn out with those settings too.

Guess that's what the first few dives are for anyway!

Download the programmable firmware (CHDK). It is non-destructive. You can then make you canon point and shoot camera do just about anything.

Thanks for the link. Will have to spend some time checking it out to see if it cam make the camera's flash work in M as if it were on auto.

In the meantime, for this trip, I'll just play around with the strobe settings. :-)

Hmmm.... just went to the chdk site and the G10 is not listed. They do have support for the G9 and G11 so am not sure why they haven't done one for the G10. Just my luck!

They don't have g10? I would try the g9. It will probably load. My camera is not listed either, but the next closest version works. Granted, you may not get to every feature.
There are a many flash, ev and other overrides, I think you can even get the flash to rear sync.
